Weekly Photo Challenge: Masterpiece
I didn’t think I’d have anything to offer this week – then, during a trip to Fleet Peeples Park with Gizmo, there it was – a masterpiece in the most unlikely place.

That is really cool! Thanks for sharing 🙂

There’s a smaller carving on a different side. I photographed it, but that one didn’t turn out well. Next time I’ll walk all the way around it to see if there’s more on the other side (we were hot and tired – sorry I didn’t think of that sooner).

It’s been a long time since we went to that park – it’s changed a lot. That carving wasn’t there last time. It startled me a bit – I turned around to see where Gizmo was and found myself looking at that face.

Great tree man! This reminds me of a beautiful old tree outside a church in Albuquerque. The outer bark had split and someone carved a madonna on the inner part of the tree trunk. I should dig up that photo and post it!
