Weekly Photo Challenge – Habit
The pups and I love to walk and autumn and winter are the best times for walking here in Florida.
Summer is too hot and the risk of getting struck by lightning or being washed away during monsoon season is too great to do much more than quick walks around the block between rainstorms.
But right now the temperature is in the sixties to seventies, humidity is low, rain is no longer an everyday occurrence and we are enjoying stretching our legs.
We have had a shift in the dog population. Jynxie (the tall Chihuahua) has gone back to live with my daughter now that the girls are out of their apartment and into a house and Li’l Bit, one of my mother-in-law’s dogs that we inherited when she passed away, has returned (a friend of our daughter’s was kind enough to keep her for a while). We missed her. And she is happy to be back with us.
These were taken a few days ago when the pups and I spent a gorgeous afternoon at the park. As soon as I post this, we’re headed out again. Days like this are just too beautiful to waste!

One of the best things about dogs (after how they love you) is that they get you outside. š When we had our foster dogs, I used to walk them in the worst cold, when virtually no one else was out, and it was great.

Amen to that! We had a Siberian Husky and a collie when we first got married. The Siberian loved the snow. He even got me to like it!

Great pictures of your wonderful friends. I had a husky for 15 years and I called him my personal trainer so I know what you mean about them loving the snow. Taking him away from it and moving him to Hawaii was hard, but he adjusted quicker than I did.

We had a blizzard one winter and we just about couldn’t get the husky to come in. He loved to make tunnels in the snow and sleep in them. Scared me to death. Our collie hated snow. He’d walk through the yard trying to shake the snow off of his paws and whine if I made him go out in it.

I can see the husky doing that. I have a photo of mine when he was a puppy tunneling in the snow.

I looked, but can’t find it. Not sure if my ex got that one. I do have 3 pictures of him on my blog if you search pets in the category search at the bottom of my blog. If I find the puppy picture, I’ll post it.
