The neighborhood squirrels love the peanut bowl at the base of our sweetgum tree.
We provide peanuts. They provide us with entertainment.

I once read that the best way to keep squirrels out of the bird feeder is to put a squirrel feeder nearby. Looks like you have great entertainment.

There is a peanut bowl at the base of the tree. The maverick squirrel doesn’t like peanuts. We get this look like “Really? Is that all you’ve got?” The up to the bird feeder.

We used to string a rope between two trees and dangle peanuts from strings, sometimes with multiple peanuts in mobiles with coat hangers and such – they really had to work for their snacks! It was a lot of fun to watch.

We have a couple we call The Flying Wallendas who come over the roof from our neighbor’s yard and leap onto the branches, then down the tree. Keep trying to catch a video of them.

When we went to Brevard, NC for spring break this year, it was the first time I saw white squirrels. Wacky. But I love this idea, and Celia’s as well. Might have to try this ’round these parts. Thanks for the ideas.
